Our Story
One of the first questions we’re asked is ‘Who’s Mr Yaffle and who’s Mr Bosk?’ The answer, is neither…well, kind of.
A yaffle is an old English nickname for the green woodpecker; curious, energetic, unmistakably its own thing (so, Terry). A bosk is a small, sheltered grove of trees and a place of quiet growth and creativity (Rob).
Together they capture who we are: an artisan woodsmith studio making furniture of genuine character, rooted in nature, craft and the belief that how something is made matters as much as how it looks.
From Tree to Table
Every piece we make carries a story that begins long before we start working on it — from responsibly managed British woodland to your home — every step considered, every decision intentional.
